"I don't often post reviews, but my experience at BSAH was so exceptional I felt I should make an exception. I took both my German Shorthairs in for their first BSAH appointment - an annual exam - after leaving another veterinary clinic in the area. I noted to the examining vet, Dr. Buchanan, that my 11yr old male, Maka, had a somewhat extended and hard abdomen, but was otherwise healthy with a good appetite. Dr. B. examined Maka, agreed something was not right and performed an x-ray, followed by an ultrasound, to discover he had an enlarged spleen. After we discussed the implications of this condition on an older dog and the costs entailed, Dr. B scheduled him for surgery the following Wednesday, only three working days off. The surgery was a success, as Dr. B removed the spleen and a 9lb tumor attached to it. The subsequent biopsy proved both were benign. Maka spent only one night in the (unattended) BSAH facility, and demonstrated enough appetite to warrant releasing him to me the following afternoon. His recovery was astoundingly quick and without any complications. Nine days after the surgery, Maka was deemed fit for unlimited activities. The performance and communications of Dr. Buchanan and the rest of the BSAH staff was exceptional throughout this surgery. I can heartily endorse BSAH."
